# Superior Trade Authentication
Use this skill to get a Superior Trade API key and make authenticated requests to `https://api.superior.trade`.
## API Key Onboarding
If a user does not already have a Superior Trade API key, ask for the email address that should receive the key. Do not ask for wallet keys, seed phrases, private keys, passwords, or other secrets.
Request a verification OTP with:
```bash
curl -sS https://api.superior.trade/account/register \
-X POST \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \View the complete source on GitHubaerodrome
When your agent uses it
Use when creating, validating, backtesting, deploying, sizing, or troubleshooting Aerodrome/Base spot trading strategies through the Superior Trade API, especially Freqtrade configs using exchange.name "aerodrome", AERO/USDC or CHECK/USDC pairs, AMM market swaps, wallet/gas balance checks, no-orderbook pricing, or Aerodrome live deployment safety.
# Aerodrome Trading
Read [`../../references/unified-runtime.md`](../../references/unified-runtime.md)
before any Superior Trade request. Use the current OpenAPI schema for every
payload and stop if Aerodrome/Freqtrade is not listed as supported.
## Overview
Use this skill only for Aerodrome trading on Base through Superior Trade. Aerodrome is spot-only AMM swap execution: no futures, no margin, no shorting, no leverage, no sub-accounts, and no order book.
## Production Defaults
When your agent uses it
Use when running, interpreting, or designing backtests on Superior Trade — anything about backtest windows, trade-count thresholds, exit-reason mix, parameter sweeps, walk-forward validation, zero-trade diagnosis, compute-cost estimation, or "is this backtest result trustworthy?". Pair with the relevant strategy skill, such as mean-reversion or breakout.
# Backtesting Best Practices
Read [`../../references/unified-runtime.md`](../../references/unified-runtime.md)
for the shared API lifecycle. Submit every run with `POST /runtime/backtests`;
creation queues it, so there is no separate start request. Use the framework and
venue fields defined by `GET /openapi.json` and the relevant venue skill. This
page is about the **judgment calls** — picking a window that means something,
telling signal from noise in the result, and knowing when to give up vs. iterate.
## The trade-count bar (sample size first)
Trade count is the single most important number on a result page. Look at it before PnL, before Sharpe, before win rate.
When your agent uses it
Use when the user asks for spot-perp basis trade, basis arbitrage, cash-and-carry, perp discount, or any setup that reads the spot–perp basis as a positioning signal. Long-perp leg only — pure two-leg basis arb requires a paired spot short (or long) which Freqtrade can't run cleanly. The strategy below captures the directional read, not the hedged carry.
# Strategy: Basis Flipping — Directional (Long-Perp Leg)
## Honest framing — read this first
**True basis arbitrage** is a two-leg trade:
- Long perp + short spot (when perp trades at a discount to spot, basis < 0)
- Short perp + long spot (when perp trades at a premium, basis > 0)
You earn the basis as the legs converge. **Freqtrade is a single-leg engine** — it can't run paired hedged trades on the same ticker. The strategy below captures the **directional signal** that "basis flipping negative + funding negative = bullish positioning shift" and goes long the perp accordingly. It's a momentum read on positioning, not a hedged arb.
If you want the actual hedged version, run an external system (or a custom Hyperliquid-only multi-leg runtime). Don't deploy this template thinking it's market-neutral.
## Backtest referenceView the complete source on GitHubbollinger-reverter-4h
When your agent uses it
Use when writing a symmetric Bollinger-band mean-reversion strategy on the 4h timeframe — BB reverter, range trader, chop strategy, ADX<25 mean reversion, band-fade with a minimal_roi ladder. Long-or-short on 2-sigma band touches with RSI confirmation. Validated on BTC/ETH/SOL/DOGE; numbers and the exact ROI ladder are in the body.
# Bollinger Reverter 4h
Symmetric mean-reversion strategy on the 4h timeframe. Long-or-short on band touches, gated to range regimes via ADX. Validated across BTC/ETH/SOL/DOGE over 162 days.
Searchable under: **mean reversion**, **bollinger band**, **range trader**, **chop strategy**, **ADX filter**.
When your agent uses it
Use when writing a swing/intraday breakout strategy on Superior Trade — anything described as breakout, momentum, trend following, 12-hour high, range expansion, riding new highs, Donchian breakout. Note this template was unprofitable in our reference backtest (long-only in a -13% market); explain regime sensitivity to the user.
# Strategy: Momentum · Breakout
## When to use
A user asks for "breakout", "momentum", "trend following", "buy new highs", "Donchian breakout", "range expansion". Single or multi-pair, hour-scale, with a trailing stop.
## Honest framing
The reference backtest was **unprofitable** (36% WR, −0.95% PnL) on `BTC/USDC:USDC` 1h Jan-May 2026 — but BTC fell **−13%** in that window. **Long-only breakouts in a downtrend are structurally a losing setup.** The strategy is correct; the regime was wrong.
Two practical paths to make this work:
- **Add a regime filter** (e.g. only enter when `close > ema_200` on the higher timeframe).
- **Run on a wider, multi-pair scan** so trending alts contribute even when BTC is weak.View the complete source on GitHubcatalyst-confirmation
# Strategy: Polymarket · Catalyst Confirmation
## When to use
Use this when the user ties a strategy idea to an external event (CPI, Fed, court rulings, ETF, earnings, protocol upgrade, sports injuries) and wants Polymarket behavior to confirm it.
## What the agent should look for
- Canonical Polymarket market from `GET /context/markets?venue=polymarket`.
- Clear catalyst timestamp or date.
- Evidence of filled-trade reaction after the catalyst window.
- Enough filled history around the event window.
- Confirmation that market question maps directly to the catalyst.
# Strategy: DCA · Scheduled Buys
## When to use
A user asks to "buy X every week", "DCA into BTC", "scheduled buy", "accumulator", "monthly buy", or any variation that means *open a position once, then keep adding to it on a calendar cadence*. **Not** for "buy when price drops" — that's grid trading (see `grid-trading`).
## What it does
- Holds **one open trade per pair** (Freqtrade's hard rule).
- The first calendar trigger opens the trade with a **small** initial stake.
- Every subsequent trigger calls `adjust_trade_position` and adds the **same notional** to the open trade.
- The position grows in fills inside a single Trade row. PnL is reported per-trade.
- Exits only when the user sets one (typically never, for true DCA — `stoploss = -0.99` and no `populate_exit_trend`).
# Strategy: Polymarket · Deadline Drift
## When to use
Use this for before-date contracts, monthly/weekly threshold markets, election timing markets, or requests where time remaining is the core thesis.
## What the agent should look for
- Canonical Polymarket market from `GET /context/markets?venue=polymarket`.
- Reliable `market_end` from market metadata.
- Time remaining during the candidate backtest window.
- Probability drift near deadline in the filled history.
- Whether the market reprices gradually or with sharp catalyst jumps.
- User preference for holding to settlement or exiting earlier.View the complete source on GitHubdeposit-qr
# Deposit QR
Use this skill to create a wallet-scannable QR code for sending a coin or ERC-20 token to a Superior-managed EVM wallet address on a named chain.
This is for funding the wallet itself. It is not the same as a venue-specific
deposit intent. Use `GET /wallet` for the managed destination and deposit
details currently exposed by Unified API.
For external bridge/provider flows such as Relay, Robinhood Chain USDG, MetaMask Mobile bridge links, or prefilled third-party deposit URLs, use `skills/external-deposit` instead. Do not use this primitive to encode arbitrary bridge calldata, approvals, or contract deposit calls into transaction QRs.
# DSL Exit Engine — Three-Phase Exit Primitive
A reusable exit primitive that any strategy skill can compose. Replaces the ad-hoc trailing-stop logic currently duplicated inside `breakout` with a single, declarative spec.
Other names this is searchable under: **ratcheting trailing stop**, **two-phase exit**, **ALO-aware exit**, **dynamic stoploss DSL**, **ROI ladder**.
---
## Why a DSL
The Freqtrade `IStrategy` lifecycle gives you `stoploss`, `trailing_stop`, `trailing_stop_positive`, `minimal_roi`, and `custom_exit`. Each strategy ends up reimplementing the same three-phase shape:
1. **Phase 0 — Take-profit ladder (`minimal_roi`).** Cash out winners at known target tiers, decaying over time. For mean-reversion / scalper strategies, this is the primary profit mechanism.
2. **Phase 1 — Survival (`stoploss`).** A hard max-loss cutoff while the trade is underwater or barely above breakeven.View the complete source on GitHubexternal-deposit
# External Deposit
Use this skill for deposits that should be completed in an external wallet or third-party bridge UI rather than by exporting Superior-managed keys or encoding arbitrary transaction calldata into a QR code.
## When to Use
- The user wants to bridge or deposit from their own wallet into a destination chain/token.
- The user asks for a MetaMask Mobile QR code, Relay bridge link, Robinhood Chain USDG, or a prefilled bridge URL.
- The user needs Polygon USDC, USDC.e, or pUSD payment links.
- A QR transaction attempt shows unexpectedly high gas or wrong-network behavior.
- The flow is not a simple native/ERC-20 transfer to a known Superior-managed wallet.
Use `skills/deposit-qr` only for simple wallet funding QRs: native token sends or ERC-20 `transfer` payment URIs to a destination address.
# Freqtrade × Hyperliquid: Fee Optimization
## When to use
- A user asks why their backtest PnL doesn't match live PnL.
- A user designs a tight-target scalp / market-making / grid strategy and you want to flag fee-as-a-fraction-of-edge concerns _before_ they deploy.
- A user explicitly asks about maker vs taker, post-only, fee tiers, builder code, or slippage.
- Any time you're about to suggest an order_types/entry_pricing/exit_pricing block, anchor it to this skill's recommendations.
# Strategy: Funding · Negative-Rate Harvest
## When to use
A user wants to capture funding payments by being on the side that gets paid:
- Long a perp when funding APR is **deeply negative** (shorts paying longs).
- Short a perp when funding APR is **deeply positive** (longs paying shorts) — variant below.
This is the most profitable of the six standard templates in our audit and the engine supports it natively. **Promote this template** when a user asks "what's a strategy that actually works?".
## Backtest reference (the real one)
# Strategy: Funding · Short-Squeeze Fuel
## When to use
A user asks for "squeeze trade", "fade the shorts", "short squeeze fuel", "longs eat shorts", "negative funding rally", or any framing where they want to **ride the squeeze** by going long when the order book is short-heavy and the price is already turning up.
This is the inverse of pure carry: instead of waiting for funding to mean-revert (`strategy-funding-rate-arbitrage`), this strategy enters when shorts are getting **squeezed harder** (funding worsening AND price rising), expecting forced unwinds to fuel further upside.
## Honest framing — when this works and when it doesn't
Squeeze setups are time-sensitive and regime-dependent:
- **Best regime**: choppy or rotating markets where shorts get caught after a deeper pullback. Recent up-move + persistent negative funding = textbook fuel.
- **Worst regime**: structural downtrends. Negative funding is normal in bear markets — shorts are right, not trapped. Without confirming up-move, this strategy gets stopped repeatedly.View the complete source on GitHubgrid-trading
Use when writing a profit-laddered position-adjustment strategy on Superior Trade — anything described as a grid bot, range fade, range harvest, ladder buy, scaling-in, pyramiding, or "buy more when it dips and sell partials when it rallies". # Strategy: Grid · Range Fade (laddered)
## When to use
A user asks for "grid trading", "grid bot", "range fade", "ladder buy", "scale into the dip", "pyramid into a position", "DCA on drawdown" (*not* on calendar — that's `strategy-dca-weekly`). Anything where the trigger to add is a **price drawdown**, and there are **partial take-profits** on the way up.
## Important caveat — explain this upfront
Freqtrade is a **one-trade-per-pair** engine. A real 20-rung grid bot — placing 20 limit orders simultaneously on the order book and refilling each as it fills — is **not possible** without engine changes. What you can implement is a **profit-laddered position adjustment**:
- 1 initial entry at a trigger price
- Up to N additional entries, each at a deeper drawdown step (−1%, −2%, …)
- Partial take-profits at progressive profit steps (+1.5%, +3%, +4.5%, …)
- Hard exit on a band breakoutView the complete source on GitHubhyperliquid
# Strategy: Polymarket · Probability Momentum
## When to use
Use this when someone asks for momentum, trend following, breakout, follow-the-crowd behavior, fast-moving crypto milestones, or rapid probability acceleration.
## What the agent should look for
- Canonical Polymarket market from `GET /context/markets?venue=polymarket`.
- `backtest_ready: true`.
- Sufficient filled-trade history for the requested lookback window.
- Rising probability on last-trade filled ticks.
- Elevated fill counts or larger notional during the move.
- Market not too close to resolution unless user explicitly accepts expiry risk.View the complete source on GitHubregime-overlay
When your agent uses it
Use when adding a regime filter to any directional strategy — regime gate, trend filter, directional confirmation, ADX gate, EMA-separation filter, trade-or-skip overlay. Provides three reusable gates (regime_strong_bear, regime_strong_bull, regime_range) that wrap entry signals with triple confirmation.
# Regime Overlay — Triple-Confirmation Gate
A reusable filter that wraps any directional strategy and only allows entries when three independent regime confirmations align. Validated as the difference between a fragile and a robust trend strategy.
Searchable under: **regime filter**, **trend gate**, **trade-or-skip filter**, **directional confirmation**, **ADX gate**.
## Why a separate primitive
After 21 backtests, the single biggest performance lever was not entry logic, stop sizing, or trailing config. It was **whether the strategy traded at all** during specific market structure.
The proof:
- Same Donchian-breakdown short on BTC 4h, no regime gate → **+12.85%** over 162d (looks great)
- Same strategy, on a different window (the rangy second half) → **-4.32%** (edge gone)
- Same strategy with triple-confirmed regime gate → **+6.69% with 0% drawdown**, fires zero trades in the chop windowView the complete source on GitHubrelated-market-spread
# Strategy: Polymarket · Related-Market Spread
## When to use
Use this when the user asks for relative-value trades, discrepancy checks, linked outcomes, or questions like "this market is mispriced versus that one."
## What the agent should look for
- At least two canonical Polymarket markets from `GET /context/markets?venue=polymarket`.
- Resolution logic that is genuinely comparable across the two markets.
- Spread between filled-trade prices that is wide versus historical behavior.
- Enough historical filled data on both markets for the requested backtest window.
- Ability to enter and exit both legs (or acknowledge unavailable liquidities before entering).
When your agent uses it
Use when writing a high-turnover intraday strategy on Superior Trade — anything described as scalping, momentum bursts, fast in/out, RSI thrust, volume spike entry, 5-minute strategy. Note this template was unprofitable in our reference backtest (33% WR, -0.34%); use it as a structural template, not a recommendation.
# Strategy: Scalp · Momentum Bursts
## When to use
A user asks for a scalping strategy, "fast in/out", "5m strategy", "ride the thrust", "buy when volume spikes". Single-pair, tight stops, time-stopped trades.
## Honest framing
The reference backtest below was **unprofitable** (33% WR, −0.34% PnL, Sharpe −5.6) on SOL 5m over April 2026. The strategy *executes correctly* — it's not broken — it's just a losing parameter set on this window. The 0.6% target / 0.4% stop ratio needs ~41% hit rate to break even before fees, which the entry filter didn't deliver. **Do not deploy as-is.** Tune the entry threshold and validate before recommending to a user.
This skill exists as a **structural template** for high-turnover momentum entries. Real edge requires parameter search, regime filtering, or a different signal.
When your agent uses it
Use when a user wants to start trading with Superior Trade and does not have everything set up yet — getting an API key, creating and funding a trading account, choosing a venue or strategy, running a first backtest, or going live. Start here, then hand off to the venue skill. Covers Hyperliquid, Polymarket, Lighter, and Aerodrome.
When your agent uses it
Use when a user proposes a trade idea, asks "should I trade X", wants a bull/bear case, conviction check, trade plan or pre-trade analysis, or before deploying any new strategy live for the first time. Builds a structured thesis: bull and bear cases, invalidation criteria, and a sizing rationale.
# Pre-Trade Thesis Builder
A structured framework the agent produces before any live deployment of a new strategy idea. Forces two-sided analysis and a measurable invalidation level so every trade has a thesis that can be killed.
## When to produce a thesis
- The user proposes a new trade idea ("I want to long ETH", "thinking about a funding squeeze on SOL")
- The user asks "should I trade X" or "is this a good setup"
- The agent is about to deploy a new strategy to live for the first time
- The user explicitly asks for a bull/bear case, conviction check, or pre-trade analysis
## When to skip
