# Async Render Example (issue #317)
This skill demonstrates the `execution` and `timeout_hint_secs` fields added
for issue #317. Tools are declared with either `execution: sync` (default)
or `execution: async`; the MCP server derives the `deferredHint` annotation
from this value and surfaces `timeout_hint_secs` under
`_meta.dcc.timeoutHintSecs` on the tool definition (never inside
`annotations`).
## Behaviour
- `render_frames` → `execution: async` + `timeout_hint_secs: 600`
→ `tools/list` entry gets `"annotations": { "deferredHint": true, ... }`
and `"_meta": { "dcc": { "timeoutHintSecs": 600 } }`.View the complete source on GitHubcancellable-loop

# Cancellable Loop
A minimal example that shows how to write a skill script that honours
`notifications/cancelled` from the MCP client.
The pattern is simple: call `check_cancelled()` at the top of every
iteration of a long-running loop. When the dispatcher installs a
`CancelToken` and the client cancels the request, `check_cancelled()`
raises `CancelledError` and the script unwinds cleanly. Outside of a
request context (REPL, unit tests) `check_cancelled()` is a no-op, so
the same script remains easy to run in isolation.

# Layered Skill Architecture — Reference
This skill demonstrates the **internal** layered organisation recommended for
complex skills (see [`docs/guide/skills.md`](../../../docs/guide/skills.md)

It is intentionally simple — three asset-management tools that share a small
service object — so the **structure**, not the business logic, is the focus.

# Typed Schema Demo (issue #242)
This skill demonstrates the `dcc_mcp_core.schema` helpers landed for
issue #242: authors write a typed handler and
`tool_spec_from_callable` derives both `inputSchema` and `outputSchema`
from the annotations, with no dependency on `pydantic`, `jsonschema`, or
`attrs`.
## What to look at
- `scripts/demo.py` — one handler using a dataclass input and a dataclass
output. The derived schemas are structurally compatible with pydantic's
`model_json_schema()` so callers can swap in pydantic later without
migrating agents or cached schemas.View the complete source on GitHubusd-tools

DCC-agnostic media utilities for render, playblast, flipbook, and review

prerequisites, not bundled with Core. Every media tool uses only installed

bootstrap dependencies. A missing runtime is an actionable preflight failure.

DCC skills for creating the render output, then use `media__probe`,
`media__sequence_to_mp4`, `media__thumbnail`, `media__transcode`,
`media__transcode_audio`, or `media__extract_frames` to inspect or repackage
files already on disk. Discover the capability, follow the returned load or

# DCC UI Control
The Agent Host owns user authorization. Core never enables the standalone
Host's legacy native confirmation popup, including when menu invocation is
allowed. Missing authorization remains a typed refusal; do not auto-approve or
retry it through another input route. For bounded task authorization, use the
project-owned DCC-CUA task bridge and its exact target/scope checks.
Use application UI automation only when a typed DCC skill, host API, or adapter
script reports `unsupported` or `capability_missing`. Policy denial, user
interruption, authentication, and desktop unavailability are stop conditions.

Cross-DCC verification toolset - deterministic capture review views, in-band image statistics, scene-vs-spec validation, and reference-vs-render comparison sheets. Pure Python, read-only, DCC-agnostic. Use to close the quality loop without shipping pixels to a model: flag white/near-black/gamma-broken frames from stats alone and catch missing-UV/missing-part exports before export. Not for scoring or aesthetic review - this toolset packages evidence and computes no scores.

# Verification
A cross-DCC, read-only verification toolset (`affinity: any`) that closes the
capture-and-look quality loop with deterministic, machine-checkable signals.
Inspired by img2threejs's "deterministic-first, model-last" review design, it
computes evidence in-band — statistics, hashes, and verdicts — and never ships
pixels to a model unless a caller explicitly asks for `image`/`both` payloads.
The four tools map to the four legs of the deterministic capture contract:
- `capture_review_views` — the fixed front / side / top / three-quarter view
plan, viewport-only, fails loudly on a missing, wrong-size, or blank frame.
- `image_stats` — mean luma, stddev, histogram, uniformity, and bad-frame flags
(white playblast, near-black render, missing display transform).View the complete source on GitHubworkflow

# Workflow Orchestration
Multi-step action chaining for DCC pipelines.
## Overview
The `workflow__run_chain` tool lets an agent (or a human) execute a sequence
of dcc-mcp-core actions in order. Results from earlier steps flow into later
steps via context merging and `{key}` parameter interpolation.

Project-owned DCC-CUA routing skill for bounded application UI automation. Use this skill whenever the user says dcc-cua, DCC CUA, our dcc-cua, or 我们的 dcc-cua, including browser and other non-DCC UI tasks. These phrases are a hard route to the dcc-mcp project UI Control stack and take precedence over generic Codex/OpenAI Computer Use, the computer-use Skill, @oai/sky, and Browser/Chrome plugins. If DCC-CUA is unavailable, repair or report the project route; never silently fall back to a generic computer-use provider.

# DCC-CUA — Project UI Control Router
Use this Skill as the canonical route whenever the user explicitly names
`dcc-cua`, `DCC CUA`, `our dcc-cua`, or `我们的 dcc-cua`.
## Non-substitution contract
An explicit DCC-CUA request is a hard routing boundary, regardless of whether
the target is Maya, Chrome, a browser, or another desktop application.
- Use the project-owned `dcc-cua` runtime and DCC-MCP `ui-control` surface.
- Never load or call generic Codex/OpenAI Computer Use, the `computer-use`
Skill, `@oai/sky`, or Browser/Chrome automation plugins for that request.

For marketplace and live-DCC operations, use the `dcc-mcp` skill and

Use `plan_conversion` before a cross-DCC import or export when source and
target coordinate conventions are known. The tool returns a pure conversion
plan; the importing or exporting adapter remains responsible for applying it
to scene data.
Do not infer a convention from a DCC name alone. Query the live scene, import
settings, or file metadata first: Maya up-axis and units are scene settings,
Blender FBX axes are operator settings, and USD stages carry `upAxis` and
`metersPerUnit` metadata.
