Individual skill

exceptional-web-design

Reviews the design of an existing non-SPA (classic) or SPA Power Pages site - a live URL or a local project folder - and recommends what to change, without modifying anything. Captures up to eight key pages at desktop and mobile, scores them against the plugin's design rubric (first impression, hierarchy, narrative, copy, trust, brand, responsive and accessible design, motion, detail), and returns prioritized, concrete recommendations. Use when the user wants a design review, critique, or audit of a site, asks how to make an existing site look better, more polished, or more impressive, or asks why it looks generic or dated.

> **Plugin check**: Run `node "${PLUGIN_ROOT}/scripts/check-version.js"` — if it outputs a message, show it to the user before proceeding.

## Non-SPA-site routing

Before creating tasks, reuse a site type/root already established by the caller. An explicit non-SPA (classic/traditional) request or a selected root containing `.portalconfig` plus `website.yml` takes `${PLUGIN_ROOT}/skills/exceptional-web-design/workflows/non-spa-site.md`; follow it and **do not continue into the workflow below**. `website.yml` alone is not a non-SPA marker.

For a supplied folder or folder-based request without an established type, use Read/Glob to identify its code config or native export through `${PLUGIN_ROOT}/references/design-studio-site-discovery.md`, excluding dependency/build folders. Do not add native discovery or questions to an already identified SPA site. Without positive non-SPA evidence, retain the existing workflow below unchanged, including arbitrary supplied folders and unspecified URLs; do not require a native export or new confirmation.

# Exceptional Web Design

Review an existing Power Pages site as a **skeptical art director** who sees it for the first time, and recommend what would make a visitor say "wow".
The standard is the one `create-site` builds to, held in three shared references.

This skill is **read-only**: it runs nothing from the site's project and writes nothing to it.
