Countries come from an offline IP-to-country database during the nightly count; addresses are never stored. Shares are rounded down, and Other includes unknown locations. IP to country data by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0)
How we count
- Measured on our own server: every night the access logs are summed into daily totals without IP addresses or user agents. Raw access logs are deleted after 14 days; only the daily totals are kept.
- Known bots, crawlers and link previews are excluded, and so is any network that requests pages at machine speed.
- We run no paid traffic, and clicks on sponsored links are not counted as visits.
- No cookies and no third-party analytics. A visitor is recognized only within one day, through a random daily salt that is never saved.
- Figures are rounded down and appear only above a minimum. The bars show the shape of the period, not exact values.
