How it works
finance-sentiment
When your agent uses it
Fetch normalized stock sentiment across Reddit, X.com, financial news, and Polymarket from the Adanos Finance API: buzz score, bullish percentage, mention or trade counts, and trend. Use this skill whenever the user asks how much a stock is being discussed or how hot it is on social platforms, how many Reddit mentions or Polymarket bets a company has, whether Reddit, X, and news agree, or wants to compare stock buzz and sentiment across tickers. Read-only: it never places trades or modifies anything.

# Finance Sentiment Skill
If your host has not already executed the shell probes below (for example, in Codex), run the commands inside the `!` wrappers with its shell tool before choosing a setup path. Use the actual output; if shell access is unavailable, report that limitation.
Fetches structured stock sentiment from the Adanos Finance API.
This skill is read-only. It is designed for research questions that are easier to answer with normalized sentiment signals than with raw social feeds.
Use it when the user wants:
- cross-source stock sentiment
- Reddit/X.com/news/Polymarket comparisons
- buzz, bullish percentage, mentions, trades, or trend
- a quick answer to "what is the market talking about?"

Query Fintel (fintel.io) institutional market data through its REST API or official MCP server. Use this skill whenever the user mentions Fintel or asks about short interest, short interest ratio or days to cover, short squeeze data, borrow rate or cost to borrow, shares available to borrow, daily short volume, fails-to-deliver (FTD), 13F institutional owners ("who owns X"), insider buying or selling from SEC Form 3/4/5, analyst price targets, ratings and forecasts, dividend or earnings history and calendars, EOD or last prices, security lookup by ticker, CUSIP, ISIN, or FIGI, Fintel leaderboards, or their Fintel watchlists and alerts. # Fintel Data Skill
If your host has not already executed the shell probes below (for example, in Codex), run the commands inside the `!` wrappers with its shell tool before choosing a setup path. Use the actual output; if shell access is unavailable, report that limitation.
Fintel ([fintel.io](https://fintel.io)) is an institutional-grade market
intelligence platform.
Its strongest datasets are the ones most other providers lack: **short
interest, borrow rates, short volume, fails-to-deliver, 13F institutional
ownership, and insider transactions**.
Fintel exposes two surfaces backed by the same data contract:

Check the live status of the Strait of Hormuz from the Hormuz Strait Monitor dashboard: open, restricted, or closed status, tanker transits vs normal, stranded vessels, Brent price impact, war-risk insurance levels, cargo throughput, tanker freight rates, diplomatic developments, and global trade impact. Use this skill whenever the user asks about the Strait of Hormuz or the Persian Gulf in the context of oil, shipping, or geopolitical risk — whether Hormuz is open, chokepoint or transit disruption, Gulf tanker traffic, war-risk premiums, Middle East shipping routes, or energy supply-chain risk.

# Hormuz Strait Monitor Skill
Fetches real-time status of the Strait of Hormuz from the [Hormuz Strait Monitor](https://hormuzstraitmonitor.com) dashboard API. Covers shipping transits, oil prices, stranded vessels, insurance risk, diplomatic status, global trade impact, and crisis timeline.
**This skill is read-only.** It fetches public dashboard data — no authentication required.
---
## Step 1: Fetch Dashboard Data
Use `curl` to fetch the dashboard API:
```bash
curl -s https://hormuzstraitmonitor.com/api/dashboardView the complete source on GitHubhyperliquid-reader
When your agent uses it
Read Hyperliquid (app.hyperliquid.xyz) perp and spot market data through opencli and Hyperliquid's public info API: mark, oracle, and mid prices, 24h change, funding rates (hourly and annualized APR), open interest, volume, the L2 order book, OHLCV candles, funding history, and cross-venue funding comparisons (Hyperliquid vs Binance vs Bybit) for funding arbitrage. Use this skill whenever the user mentions Hyperliquid (HL, HL DEX, hyperliquid.xyz) or asks about its perps, spot pairs such as PURR, funding, open interest, order book, or candles. Read-only market data: no account, order, or transfer operations.
# Hyperliquid Reader (Read-Only)
If your host has not already executed the shell probes below (for example, in Codex), run the commands inside the `!` wrappers with its shell tool before choosing a setup path. Use the actual output; if shell access is unavailable, report that limitation.
Reads [Hyperliquid](https://app.hyperliquid.xyz) — the on-chain perps/spot DEX — for market data via [opencli](https://github.com/jackwener/opencli) and the `hyperliquid` plugin in this repo's [`opencli-plugins/hyperliquid`](https://github.com/himself65/finance-skills/tree/main/opencli-plugins/hyperliquid) tree (a separate plugin from opencli's built-in adapters, installed via opencli's monorepo subpath syntax).
**This skill is read-only and market-data only.** It reads Hyperliquid's fully public info API for analysis: market tables, funding, order book, and candles. It does NOT read individual accounts, place/modify/cancel orders, or move funds. There is no trading path in the plugin — order placement requires wallet-signed actions on a separate endpoint this adapter never calls.
**How it works**: every command issues a single `POST https://api.hyperliquid.xyz/info` with a `{ "type": "..." }` body and normalizes the response. **No API key, no wallet, no login, no running app** — the info API is public.
---
## Step 1: Ensure opencli + Plugin Are Installed and Ready
View the complete source on GitHubtradingview-mcp
When your agent uses it
Query TradingView market data through the bundled tradingview MCP server without a desktop app or login. Use whenever the user wants a technical analysis readout (RSI, MACD, Bollinger rating, BUY/SELL summary), multi-timeframe alignment (weekly→daily→4h→1h→15m), exchange-wide scans (Bollinger squeeze, volume breakout, consecutive candles, smart volume), top gainers/losers by exchange, futures market data (NQ/ES/CL/GC overview, overnight movers, category snapshots), pre-market / after-hours quotes, a quick options chain or unusual options activity (volume/OI by strike), bulk stock prices, a global market snapshot, strategy backtests (Sharpe, drawdown, win rate), or crypto exchange scans. Triggers include "TA on X", "multi-timeframe read", "BB squeeze scan", "futures movers", "NQ overnight", "pre-market price", "unusual options activity", "backtest RSI on AAPL", and "top gainers on NASDAQ". For options greeks, watchlists, alerts, or chart screenshots use tradingview-reader instead.
# TradingView MCP (Headless Market Data)
Market data via the bundled [`tradingview` MCP server](https://github.com/atilaahmettaner/tradingview-mcp) — TradingView's public scanner API plus Yahoo Finance, spoken over MCP. **No TradingView desktop app or account.** Most tools need no API key. The server ships with the full plugin (`mcp.json` for portable/Codex packages, `.mcp.json` for legacy clients) and starts when enabled in a host that supports local stdio MCP processes. Its 39 tools appear under the plugin's `tradingview` MCP namespace (load them through the client's deferred-tool mechanism when necessary). Installing only the skill does not install the MCP server; use the full `finance-data-providers` plugin or configure the server separately.
**Read-only.** Nothing here places trades or mutates any account.
## When to use this vs the other data skills
| Need | Skill |
| Quotes, TA readout, indicator ratings, multi-timeframe alignment | **this skill** |
| Exchange-wide scans: squeeze / volume breakout / gainers / losers | **this skill** |
When your agent uses it
Read the user's local TradingView desktop app through opencli: quotes, options chains with greeks and per-strike IV, options expiries, screener results across stocks, crypto, forex, futures, and bonds, gainers and losers, news headlines and full stories, alerts (active, fired, offline fires), watchlists including colored flag lists, symbol search, chart state, and chart screenshots. Use this skill whenever the user asks for any of these from TradingView ("TV") — for example an options chain, puts, or IV skew for a ticker, an oversold-stock screen, their red flag list, which alerts fired, or a screenshot of their chart. For plain quotes, TA readouts, scans, or futures without the desktop app, prefer tradingview-mcp. Read-only: it never places trades or edits watchlists, alerts, or layouts.
# TradingView Reader (Read-Only)
Reads TradingView's desktop macOS app for quotes, options chains, and chart state via [opencli](https://github.com/jackwener/opencli) and a CDP attach to the running TradingView.app process. Powered by the `tradingview` plugin in this repo's [`opencli-plugins/tradingview`](https://github.com/himself65/finance-skills/tree/main/opencli-plugins/tradingview) tree (a separate plugin from opencli's built-in adapters, installed via opencli's monorepo subpath syntax).
**This skill is read-only.** Designed for analysis: pulling options chains, checking IV/greeks, capturing chart state. It does NOT place trades, post ideas, modify watchlists, or change chart layouts.
> **Headless alternative**: for plain quotes, TA readouts, screeners, futures, or a greeks-free options chain, prefer the sibling `tradingview-mcp` skill (bundled MCP server, no desktop app, no CDP relaunch). Use *this* skill when you need greeks / per-strike IV skew, expiries with contract counts, or account-bound data (watchlists, alerts, charts, TV news).
**Important**: Unlike browser-based opencli readers (twitter, linkedin), this one talks directly to a running TradingView desktop app over Chrome DevTools Protocol. The user must (a) have `TradingView.app` installed, and (b) be logged in inside that app. The plugin handles relaunching with the debug port.
**How it works**: data commands read the app's session cookies over CDP and call TradingView's HTTP APIs from Node directly, so no Browser Bridge extension or `apps.yaml` registration is needed.
Estimate a public company's intrinsic value with DCF, relative (peer multiple), and sum-of-the-parts (SOTP) methods, then blend them into an implied share price with upside/downside vs the market price, a WACC and terminal-growth sensitivity grid, and bull/base/bear scenarios. Use this skill whenever the user asks what a company or ticker is worth: fair value, intrinsic value, implied share price, a price target from fundamentals, whether it is overvalued or undervalued, building a DCF (WACC, terminal value, discounted cash flow), EV/EBITDA or P/E based targets, peer comparison valuation, or SOTP and conglomerate discounts. Run the model rather than answering valuation questions from memory.
Triangulates intrinsic value via three methods, then blends them to an implied share price:
1. **DCF** — 5-year FCFF projection, discount at WACC, terminal value.
2. **Relative** — apply peer median P/E, EV/Revenue, EV/EBITDA.
3. **SOTP** — when 2+ distinct reporting segments exist, value each at pure-play peer multiples.
Always present a WACC × terminal-growth sensitivity table and Bull/Base/Bear scenarios.
Calculates the premium or discount of an ETF's market price relative to its Net Asset Value (NAV) using data from Yahoo Finance via [yfinance](https://github.com/ranaroussi/yfinance).
**Why this matters:** An ETF's market price can diverge from the value of its underlying holdings (NAV). When you buy at a premium, you're overpaying relative to the assets; at a discount, you're getting a bargain. This divergence is typically small for liquid US equity ETFs but can be significant for bond ETFs, international ETFs, leveraged/inverse products, and crypto ETFs — especially during periods of market stress.
# SEPA Strategy Analysis
Analyze stocks using Mark Minervini's SEPA (Specific Entry Point Analysis) framework — a complete system for identifying high-probability growth stock entries with strict risk management.
**Core philosophy:** Buy the right stock, in the right stage, at a precise entry point, with strict risk controls. Win rate is ~50-55% — profitability comes from asymmetric risk/reward (small losses, large gains), not from predicting direction.
# Skill Creator
Create, evaluate, and iterate on high-quality agent skills. This skill covers the whole lifecycle: planning what the skill should do, writing SKILL.md and reference files, scoring quality against a rubric, and iterating until the skill meets production standards.
**Philosophy:** A great skill is precise, not long. Its description routes the right requests to it. Its body gives the model the context it can't get anywhere else — the environment, tool contracts, defaults, domain judgment, and the reasons behind each constraint — and leaves out what a capable model already does on its own. Current Claude models follow instructions closely and literally, so every line gets acted on: an over-scripted or shouting skill produces rigid, over-cautious output, while a clear goal and quality bar let the model plan the work itself. `references/writing-guide.md` covers this in detail.
**Runtime adaptation:** Skills that touch external tools should detect what is installed, authenticated, and reachable at runtime and adapt, rather than assuming a single method. Offer fallback paths where real alternatives exist. See `references/dynamic-calling.md` for the pattern catalog.
Generic read-only fallback for sources opencli supports but no dedicated skill covers: finance sites (Yahoo Finance, Bloomberg, Reuters, Barchart, Eastmoney, Xueqiu, Sinafinance), communities (Reddit, HackerNews, Weibo, Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili), newsletters and blogs (Substack, Medium), research (arXiv, Google Scholar), podcasts and video (Apple Podcasts, Xiaoyuzhou, Spotify, YouTube), Weixin, Amazon, and more. Use it when the user asks to read or fetch from such a site — for example r/wallstreetbets, the HackerNews front page, Eastmoney hot stocks, the Xueqiu feed, Bloomberg markets headlines, or an arXiv search — or says "use opencli to read". Prefer twitter-reader, linkedin-reader, discord-reader, telegram-reader, or yc-reader when the source matches. Read-only: never runs write commands.
If your host has not already executed the shell probes below (for example, in Codex), run the commands inside the `!` wrappers with its shell tool before choosing a setup path. Use the actual output; if shell access is unavailable, report that limitation.
Generic fallback for any source opencli supports via its [adapter registry](https://github.com/jackwener/opencli) (100+ sites, growing). Use this skill only when **no dedicated finance-skill covers the source** — the specialized skills (`twitter-reader`, `linkedin-reader`, `discord-reader`, `telegram-reader`, `yc-reader`) are always preferred when the request matches one of them.
**This skill is read-only.** Write commands that opencli exposes (post, like, comment, send, save, upvote, subscribe, follow, delete, reply-dm, etc.) must not be invoked.
# Startup Analysis
Produces a multi-perspective analysis of a startup, examining it through three lenses that each reveal different aspects of company health and potential:
1. **VC Investor Lens** — Is this a good investment? Market size, unit economics, growth trajectory, team quality, defensibility
2. **Job Applicant Lens** — Should I work here? Equity value, runway risk, culture signals, career growth, compensation fairness
3. **CEO/Founder Lens** — How healthy is this company? Product-market fit, burn efficiency, competitive moat, organizational health
Each perspective surfaces insights the others miss. A company can be a great investment but a terrible place to work (or vice versa). The goal is to give the user a 360-degree view so they can make informed decisions.
Use this skill whenever the user wants visual or interactive output rather than plain text or markdown: charts and dashboards, diagrams, flowcharts and architecture drawings, mockups, comparison grids, illustrations, interactive explainers ("explain how X works" with a visual), or tools with sliders, toggles, and live-updating displays — including financial data shown visually and requests phrased as "show me", "visualize", "draw", or "chart this".
# Generative UI Skill
This skill contains the complete design system for Claude's built-in `show_widget` tool — the generative UI feature that renders interactive HTML/SVG widgets inline in claude.ai conversations. The guidelines below are the actual Anthropic "Imagine — Visual Creation Suite" design rules, extracted so you can produce high-quality widgets directly without needing the `read_me` setup call.
**How it works**: On claude.ai, Claude has access to the `show_widget` tool which renders raw HTML/SVG fragments inline in the conversation. This skill provides the design system, templates, and patterns to use it well.
**Codex and other hosts**: First check the available tools. Use the host's documented visualization interface when provided; otherwise save a complete HTML document in the workspace and return a clickable file link. For standalone output, the fragment-only rule below does not apply: include a document wrapper and viewport metadata, define the CSS variables and SVG classes used by the templates (including dark-mode colors), and load chart dependencies explicitly. The host-specific CDN allowlist and injected styles below describe Claude's renderer; they are not Codex capabilities. Remove chat follow-up buttons and `sendPrompt` handlers when that bridge is unavailable; keep local sliders and calculations functional. Verify the saved output in a browser when available.
