How it works
add-custom-domain
When your agent uses it
Add a custom domain to a Temps project and provision an automatic SSL/TLS certificate via Let's Encrypt, driven entirely from the `@temps-sdk/cli` CLI. Handles subdomains, apex domains, HTTP-01 and DNS-01 challenges, wildcard domains, and domains served through a Cloudflare Tunnel (no certificate, no open ports). Use when the user wants to: (1) Add a custom domain to their Temps app, (2) Set up HTTPS/SSL for a deployment, (3) Point their own domain at a Temps project, (4) Add a wildcard domain, (5) Configure DNS for Temps, (6) Expose an app on a worker behind NAT through a tunnel. Triggers: "add custom domain", "point my domain at temps", "set up ssl", "https for my app", "wildcard domain", "add domain to project", "cloudflare tunnel", "expose app without open ports".

# Add a Custom Domain
Add a custom domain to a Temps project and get automatic HTTPS. This skill drives
the whole flow from the CLI; the human equivalent is **Project → Domains → Add Domain**
in the dashboard.
## When to use
The user wants their own domain (e.g. `app.example.com`) serving a Temps project,
with an SSL certificate, instead of the auto-assigned subdomain.
## Prerequisites
- The Temps CLI is authenticated. Verify, and log in to the user's instance if neededView the complete source on GitHubadd-error-tracking
When your agent uses it
Add Temps error tracking to applications using the Sentry-compatible SDK. Temps exposes a Sentry-compatible DSN that works with the official Sentry SDK for each language/framework — no code changes beyond initialization are required. Use when the user wants to: (1) Add error tracking to any app (React, Next.js, Vue, Svelte, Angular, Node.js, Python, Go, Rust, Ruby, Java, PHP, .NET, React Native, Flutter), (2) Wire up uncaught exception and unhandled promise rejection capture, (3) Configure session replay for errors, (4) Upload source maps for readable stack traces, (5) Report releases and environments, (6) Capture custom errors/messages. Triggers: "add error tracking", "add sentry", "track exceptions", "report errors", "temps error tracking", "wire up error monitoring".

# Add Error Tracking
Integrate Temps error tracking (Sentry-compatible) into an application. The Temps DSN is a drop-in replacement for a Sentry DSN — use the official Sentry SDK for the user's platform and point it at the Temps DSN via an environment variable.
## Prefer Sentry's official per-framework skills when available
Temps is Sentry wire-compatible, so every skill Sentry publishes for their SDKs works against a Temps DSN. If the user's CLI already has one of these installed, route them to it and only substitute the DSN:
| User's platform | Sentry skill | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Next.js | `/sentry-nextjs-sdk` | `getsentry/sentry-for-ai` |
| React (Vite, Remix, etc.) | `/sentry-react-sdk` | `getsentry/sentry-for-ai` |
| Vanilla browser JS | `/sentry-browser-sdk` | `getsentry/sentry-for-ai` |
| Node.js | `/sentry-node-sdk` | `getsentry/sentry-for-ai` |View the complete source on GitHubadd-node-sdk

When your agent uses it
Audit a project's infrastructure and SaaS stack, then produce a cost report showing what the user currently pays and what they would save by consolidating onto Temps (self-hosted or Temps Cloud). Detects hosting platforms (Vercel, Netlify, Railway, Render, Heroku, Fly.io), analytics (PostHog, Plausible, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Fathom), error tracking (Sentry, Bugsnag, Rollbar, Honeybadger), session replay (LogRocket, FullStory, Hotjar, Highlight), uptime monitoring (Pingdom, UptimeRobot, Better Stack, Checkly), managed databases (Supabase, Neon, PlanetScale, MongoDB Atlas, Upstash, RDS), and transactional email (SendGrid, Postmark, Resend, Mailgun) from dependencies, config files, and env var names. Use when the user wants to: (1) Know how much they would save by switching to Temps, (2) Audit their SaaS/infrastructure spend, (3) Compare their current stack's cost against self-hosting, (4) Decide whether Temps is worth it, (5) Build a business case for consolidating tools. Triggers: "how much would I save", "temps savings", "cost comparison", "audit my stack", "am I overpaying", "saas spend", "calculate savings", "is temps cheaper".

# Estimate Temps Savings
Scan the current project, detect every paid SaaS tool it depends on, estimate the monthly bill, and show the delta against running Temps instead. The output is a savings report the user can act on (or show their team).
Temps is a self-hosted PaaS that replaces the deployment platform, web analytics, session replay, error tracking, uptime monitoring, managed databases, and transactional email relay with a single binary. Self-hosting is free (you pay only for the server); Temps Cloud is a managed server at cost + 30% (from ~$6/mo).
## Ground Rules
1. **Never read or print secret values.** Detection uses dependency names, config file presence, env var **key names**, and the **hostname** of connection strings only. If you must open a `.env*` file, extract key names (`cut -d= -f1`) — never echo values into the report or your reasoning.
2. **No vanity math.** Only count tools you actually detected. If a tool has a free tier the user likely fits in (e.g. Google Analytics, small Sentry dev plan), say so and count $0 or a range starting at $0. An inflated savings number destroys trust; an honest one converts.
3. **Ranges, not fake precision.** You don't know the user's plan. Report low/typical estimates and label them as list-price estimates. If exact numbers matter, tell the user which invoices to check.
4. **Be honest about what Temps does NOT replace** (see the "Not replaced" section below). Always include it in the report.
## Step 1 — Detect the StackView the complete source on GitHubtemps
When your agent uses it
Manage, deploy, operate, and instrument applications with Temps. Use this skill whenever the user mentions Temps, `@temps-sdk/cli@0.1.38`, deploying or migrating an app to Temps, projects, environments, services, domains, backups, edge rules (request blocking, redirects, bot challenges), logs, monitoring, analytics, browser Performance Insights/Core Web Vitals, observability, error tracking, OpenTelemetry, tracing, session replay, or Temps Cloud. Also use it when preparing an application for production on Temps even if the user does not explicitly ask for the CLI. Route to focused references, proactively detect missing observability during create/link/deploy journeys, and use pinned `bunx` or `npx` CLI invocations with explicit target contexts.

# Temps
Treat Temps as a product workflow, not a command catalog. Understand the
user's desired outcome, inspect the application or platform read-only, load
only the relevant reference, make the smallest authorized change, and prove
the result.
Runtime requirements: a shell and either `bunx` or `npx` for CLI operations;
Python 3.9+ for the bundled read-only capability detector.
## Required workflow
1. Classify the task: application preparation, deployment, platform operation,
observability, recovery, or diagnosis.View the complete source on GitHubtemps-best-practices
When your agent uses it
Best-practices reference for preparing and instrumenting applications on Temps. Covers the app runtime contract (`.temps.yaml` health, HOST/PORT, readiness, SIGTERM, replicas, migrations) and production observability (errors, traces, metrics, logs, analytics, privacy, sampling, cardinality, credential boundaries). Use whenever building or reviewing an app for Temps, configuring health checks, adding telemetry, diagnosing missing/noisy signals, or checking OTLP/Sentry/analytics ingestion. Triggers include "temps best practices", "prepare this app for Temps", ".temps.yaml health", "temps health check", "ignore health checks in otel", "temps observability", "wire up telemetry", and "instrument this app for temps". Prefer focused setup skills for a single SDK. Use temps-cli for executing deploy and resource-management commands.

# Temps Best Practices
Best practices for application code that runs on Temps. This skill owns the **runtime contract** and **production observability**; use `temps-cli` for platform operations.
## Required workflow
1. For any deployable application, read [references/runtime-contract.md](references/runtime-contract.md).
2. When any telemetry or replay is enabled, read [references/telemetry-hygiene.md](references/telemetry-hygiene.md).
3. Read only the reference for each observability pillar in scope.
4. Determine the deployment source. For repository builds, inspect and merge `.temps.yaml`; for image/static deployments, inspect the deployment health-path override because no repository config is available.
5. Run the runtime and telemetry verification checklists before considering the work complete.

Operate Temps through the pinned `@temps-sdk/cli` package with bunx or npx. Use when the user mentions Temps CLI, `@temps-sdk/cli`, a CLI command, or asks to deploy, configure, inspect, automate, or administer Temps from a terminal. Covers contexts, projects, deployments, environments, services, domains, monitoring, backups, telemetry, browser Performance Insights/Core Web Vitals, Cloud, platform administration, and read-only managed-data browsing. Apply the target-context, secret-handling, confirmation, and verification rules for every agentic CLI operation.

# Temps CLI
Use the pinned zero-install package invocation to operate a Temps server. Prefer
`bunx @temps-sdk/cli@0.1.38`; use `npx @temps-sdk/cli@0.1.38` when Bun is not
available. Treat this skill as procedural guidance and command documentation,
not as authorization to mutate a server.
## Required workflow
1. Run `command -v bunx || command -v npx` to select an available package
runner. Prefer `bunx` when both exist.
2. Verify the reviewed package integrity as shown below, then run
`bunx @temps-sdk/cli@0.1.38 --version` (or its pinned `npx` equivalent).

Configure Temps as an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so AI assistants can interact with a Temps instance directly -- listing/inspecting projects and deployments, and (when write mode is enabled) triggering deployments with human confirmation. Use when the user wants to: (1) Set up the Temps MCP server, (2) Connect Claude Code/Desktop, Codex, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, or Zed to Temps, (3) Add Temps tools to an AI assistant, (4) Test the MCP wizard locally, (5) Manage multiple Temps MCP connections (dev, staging, prod, or several local dev slots) side by side. Triggers: "temps mcp", "configure temps tools", "add temps to claude", "temps ai assistant", "mcp server setup", "mcp add", "test the mcp wizard".

# Temps MCP Setup
Temps serves MCP (Model Context Protocol) directly from the `temps` binary itself
(ADR-039, `crates/temps-mcp-server`) -- there is no separate package to install or
keep up to date. The MCP endpoint calls the same service layer as the REST API, so
it cannot drift from it the way the old standalone `@temps-sdk/mcp` npm package did
(removed in PR #355 for exactly that reason -- do not reinstall it or point a
client at it).
Installer wizard lives in `apps/temps-cli/src/commands/mcp/`
(`bunx @temps-sdk/cli mcp add|remove|status`).

# Temps Platform Setup
Provision a Temps instance and hand it back as a verified CLI context while
keeping infrastructure scope, browser approval, and credentials under the
user's control.
## Safety contract
Apply these rules to every workflow:
1. **Require an explicit target.** Before provisioning, identify the exact
server hostname/IP, SSH identity, setup mode, release channel or pinned
version, administrator email, and local context name. The user's direct
request to provision that target is authorization for the scoped install;View the complete source on GitHubtemps-plugin

Design, build, test, and distribute external Temps plugins with TypeScript/Bun; provide development and local-testing guidance for existing Rust plugins. Use for creating a plugin, adding an embedded console UI or deployment-event automation, testing host permissions and AI, installing from GitHub, or submitting a plugin to the public catalog. End-to-end publishing covers TypeScript GitHub-source plugins, not Rust native-package releases or in-process TempsPlugin backend crates.

# Create and ship a Temps plugin
For TypeScript/Bun, deliver a working external plugin, an installable source repository, and evidence of
what was verified. Continue an existing project when provided; preserve its identity,
storage, and user changes. Publishing is a separate outcome from building or installing.
Rust support here is limited to development and local simulator testing. Rust distribution
requires the separate signed native npm-package/catalog pipeline, which this skill does
not teach. Do not route a Cargo repository through the TypeScript GitHub installer or
suggest copying/symlinking a binary into the host plugin directory. If Rust publication is
requested, establish the supported native release procedure before claiming an end-to-end
plan; do not silently change the user's implementation language.
