# Orient on a Figma file

Build a cited map of the file or scope the task needs, without changing the
canvas. Reuse an existing map after checking its relevant ids/current state;
this is not a full-product extraction or a reason to walk every page.

Confirm URL/fileKey/node-id, file type and actual paired file. For a specific
request, inspect that target and dependencies. For "what is in this file", list
pages and sample the canonical areas, recording where the walk stopped.
Use repo docs first when the project declares them authoritative.
