Individual skill
figure-it-out
For a large task no specific playbook covers, design a phased playbook first, sized to the stakes, then run it as measured experiments and leave a decision log a reviewer can audit later. Use for "figure it out", big migrations, multi-part changes, unsupervised work.

# figure-it-out
When no narrower skill or playbook fits a task, design one before touching code. The playbook sets phases with rigor matched to the stakes. You then run each unit of work as a hypothesis-driven experiment and leave a decision log that lets a reviewer check the result later without having watched you work.
Use it for `/figure-it-out`, large migrations, ambitious multi-part changes, and work a person will review after the fact instead of supervising. If an existing skill or playbook already fits, use that instead.
## Start
Track a todo list. The first entry is reading the principles section of the [tarique-mode](../tarique-mode/SKILL.md) router. Then add one entry for each of phases A through E below.
## Phase A: frame
Research before committing to anything. Do not start the main run until you can state three things.
