# CrestApps Orchard Core Transactions

Transactions answers one question for the tenant: what has not been paid yet? A `Transaction` is a durable record of one obligation, whatever created it (Pay Later, bank transfer, installment plans, company terms, your module). The module also owns the payment ledgers (`PaymentAttempt`, `PaymentRefund`) the checkout writes, and the **Commerce > Payments** and **Commerce > Refunds** screens.
