# Slide Editing

## Source-backed slides

Generated Slides 2 slides store canonical React in `sourceTsx`; `content` is a
derived script-free preview. Read `get-slide-source` before a source edit and
save with `update-slide-source`, passing the returned `revision` and
`sourceHash`. Use its source-located `edits` for targeted changes or a complete
`sourceTsx` replacement for a broad rewrite. A stale revision/hash is a
conflict: re-read and reapply the edit. Never write generated source slides
through `update-slide` or `patch-deck` HTML fields, because that would leave the
preview and source inconsistent.
