# You.com Integration Planning

Use this skill to plan something that will be *built* with You.com APIs and other agentic resources: an inference provider embedding Search and Contents, a local harness where users bring their own key (Jan.ai- or AnythingLLM-style), an agent exposed behind an MCP server, an SDK or direct-API application, or a plugin for an existing agent host. The deliverable is a decisions record an implementer — human or agent — can build from.

Do not use this skill to answer a question with web search; that belongs to the `you-web` and `you-research` skills. This skill may *plan* integrations that call those APIs, and it uses search itself as planning evidence.

## Required resources

Check for these before planning. If one is missing, name the missing server, its URL, and its auth requirement from the `metadata.mcp_servers` field above, point to the current host's MCP setup mechanism, and ask for approval — do not install, connect, or modify configuration without it.

1. `you-discover` on the keyless discover profile (`https://api.you.com/mcp?profile=discover`). No credential required.
2. Docs MCP `searchDocs` (`https://you.com/docs/_mcp/server`). No credential required.
3. `you-search`, at minimum on the keyless free profile (`https://api.you.com/mcp?profile=free`). Assume at least this is available while planning.
4. Optional upgrade: `you-contents` and the full `you-search` surface on the authenticated server (`https://api.you.com/mcp`) via `YDC_API_KEY` or OAuth.
