# Database Migration Generator
Generate database migrations with rollback capability for schema changes, with built-in ToM verification for safe database operations.
> **Implementation note**: This skill uses direct `Write()` calls with inline templates (see Steps 3–4 and "Schema Change Templates" section below). Unlike `frontend-component` and `backend-endpoint`, there are no Python helper functions — the skill is prose-driven by design, since migration generation is highly schema-specific and benefits from inline framework templates. Future work (tracked for v6.6.0) may extract a timestamp generator and per-framework templates.

# Navigator Intent Brief Skill
Front-load the scope negotiation. When a prompt is task-shaped but ambiguous,
render a one-screen INTENT BRIEF and get confirmation **before** writing code —
turning 2-4 correction exchanges into 1 confirmation exchange.
## Why This Exists
Ambiguity is not complexity. A small task can be highly ambiguous ("fix the
bug" — which bug?) while a large one can be fully specified. The expensive
failure mode is implementing on guessed scope: rework burns tokens on
undo/redo, pollutes context with dead ends, and forces mid-feature compacts.
## When This FiresView the complete source on GitHubnav-compact

# Navigator Compact Skill
Clear your conversation context while preserving all knowledge in a context marker. Like git commit before switching branches - save your state, then start fresh.
## When to Invoke
Invoke this skill when the user:
- Says "clear context", "start fresh", "reset conversation"
- Says "I'm done with this task", "moving to next feature"
- Mentions "approaching token limit", "context getting full"
- Says "compact", "clean up context"
- After completing isolated sub-task
**DO NOT invoke** if:View the complete source on GitHubnav-deep-research

Auto-invoke when user says "deep research on", "research the web for", "write a research report on", "what does the literature say about", or "deep dive into" a topic outside the codebase. For codebase questions use the navigator-research agent instead.

# Navigator Deep Research Skill
One question in, one cited `report.md` out, conclusions in the knowledge graph. This
file is a thin router: each step's procedure lives in `steps/N-name.md` and is loaded
with `Read` at the moment the step starts, so a long run never depends on a procedure
that compaction has already evicted. All fetching, drafting, critique and patching
happens in subagents; the main session sees digests, findings and the final report.

# Navigator Diagnose Skill
Detect when human-AI collaboration quality drops and prompt re-anchoring to restore effective communication.
## Why This Exists (Theory of Mind)
Based on Riedl & Weidmann 2025 research on Human-AI Synergy:
- Theory of Mind varies dynamically within users (moment-to-moment)
- Quality drops occur when ToM alignment degrades
- Early detection and re-anchoring restores collaboration effectiveness
- Both user ToM (understanding Claude) and Claude's model of user can drift
This skill detects when collaboration is degrading and prompts corrective action.

# Navigator Knowledge Graph Skill
Query and manage the unified project knowledge graph. Surfaces relevant knowledge from tasks, SOPs, system docs, and experiential memories.
## Why This Exists
Navigator v6.0.0 introduces the Project Knowledge Graph:
- **Unified search**: Query across all knowledge types with one interface
- **Experiential memory**: Patterns, pitfalls, decisions, learnings persist
- **Context-aware retrieval**: Load only relevant knowledge (~1-2k tokens)
- **Relationship traversal**: Find related concepts and documents

# Navigator Loop Skill
Execute tasks iteratively until completion with structured signals, stagnation detection, and dual-condition exit gates.
## Why This Exists
Traditional AI coding requires manual "keep going" prompts. Navigator Loop provides:
- **Structured completion signals** (NAVIGATOR_STATUS block)
- **Dual-condition exit gate** (heuristics + explicit signal)
- **Stagnation detection** (circuit breaker for stuck loops)
- **Progress visibility** (phases: INIT → RESEARCH → IMPL → VERIFY → COMPLETE)
Based on Ralph's autonomous loop innovations, adapted for Navigator's context-efficient architecture.

# Navigator → Pilot Dispatch Skill
Hand a finished Navigator task doc off to Pilot by creating the `pilot`-labeled
GitHub issue Pilot polls, then record the issue back into the doc.
**This skill does NOT validate the doc.** Spec checking is Pilot's job (its
`spec_validator`). nav-pilot only resolves the doc, creates the labeled issue,
and records the result. It consumes what `nav-task` authored — it does not
author or archive docs itself.

# Navigator Profile Skill
Manage user preferences for bilateral modeling - enabling Claude to understand and adapt to your working style, technical preferences, and past corrections.
## Why This Exists (Theory of Mind)
Based on Riedl & Weidmann 2025 research on Human-AI Synergy:
- Theory of Mind (ToM) is the key differentiator in human-AI collaboration success
- Users with higher ToM achieve 23-29% performance boost
- **Bilateral modeling** completes the ToM loop: Claude models you, you model Claude
This skill enables Claude to:
- Remember your preferences across sessions
- Learn from corrections without you repeating themView the complete source on GitHubnav-release

# Navigator TRIZ Skill
Navigator finds *a* solution fast. This skill exists for the minority of tasks where the
first fitting idea is a compromise: improving one thing worsens another. It forces three
genuinely different candidates onto the table before PLAN picks one, then records the
resolution so the next session can find it.
## When This Fires (and when it must not)
Fires when either:
- The user asks for it: "find a better solution for X", "alternatives for X", "resolve the
contradiction", "triz this".
- A nav-brief `Contradict` row is not `none` AND the task is substantial (Task Mode
complexity ≥ 0.5, or touching more than one subsystem).View the complete source on GitHubnav-upgrade

# Navigator Task Mode Skill
Unified workflow orchestration that coordinates between skills, loop mode, and direct execution based on task complexity and type.
## Why This Exists
Navigator had three disconnected workflow systems:
1. **Skills** (frontend-component, etc.) - have mini-workflows (Step 1 → Step 7)
2. **Loop Mode** - separate phase system (INIT → COMPLETE)
3. **CLAUDE.md** - documents workflow nobody enforces
**Result**: Conflicts when multiple systems try to run.
**Solution**: Task Mode acts as a coordinator - detecting when skills should handle workflow vs when to provide standalone phase guidance.View the complete source on GitHubplugin-slash-command
