How it works
add-captions
When your agent uses it
Add TikTok-style, karaoke, YouTube or minimal captions to your Remotion video. Gets word-level captions through the official remotion-captions flow (whisper-webgpu, or ElevenLabs Scribe via @remotion/elevenlabs when there's no GPU), or imports the user's SRT with parseSrt, places one official caption element per clip, and applies a style preset with platform-safe placement.

# Add Captions: Animated Subtitles
You are helping the user add captions to their Remotion video.
**Load the `remotion-production` skill** for the `captions-workflow` rule (routes, presets and safe zones), and the official **`remotion-captions`** skill for transcription and display. ### 1. Identify the Audio Source
Find the voiceover or primary audio file(s):

### 1. Understand the Mood
If not already described, ask the user:
- **Genre** — Electronic, jazz, classical, lo-fi, ambient, rock, orchestral, pop?
- **Mood** — Upbeat, calm, dramatic, inspiring, playful, cinematic?
- **Tempo** — Fast, medium, slow?View the complete source on GitHubadd-transitions

# Add Transitions — Scene Transition Wizard
You are helping the user add professional transitions between scenes in their Remotion composition. This skill is the Q&A and the creative call (which transition fits which cut). **For the API, follow the official `remotion-markup` skill**: `transitions.md` for `TransitionSeries`, presentations, timing, overlays and duration math, and `light-leaks.md` for light-leak overlays. Don't write transition code from memory.
## Workflow
### 1. Check the Preview Is Running
Studio should already be open (`npx remotion studio`, or `npx remotion studio --no-open` with an in-app browser; open the URL it prints). If not, start it now so the user sees each transition as you add it.
### 2. Audit Current Scenes
Look at the current composition and identify the cut points:

# Analyze Footage — AI Video Understanding

# Create Short — Vertical Short-Form Video Pipeline
You are creating a short-form vertical video optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts.
**Load the `remotion-production` skill** for the MCP steps and the `captions-workflow` rule, plus the official `remotion-best-practices` skill for all Remotion markup, preview and render (it routes to `remotion-create`, `remotion-markup`, `remotion-captions`, `remotion-render`). The official skills win on Remotion APIs.
## Key Differences from `/create-video`
- **Aspect ratio**: 9:16 (1080x1920) — ALWAYS vertical
- **Duration**: 15–60 seconds max (sweet spot: 30s)
- **Hook first**: First 2-3 seconds must grab attention
- **Captions required**: Always add TikTok-style word-by-word captions
- **Background music**: Always include — with mood tags
- **Pacing**: Fast cuts, 2-5 seconds per scene, no slow momentsView the complete source on GitHubcreate-video

# Create Video — Full Production Pipeline
You are the Video Director. The user wants to create a complete video. Follow this pipeline step by step.
**IMPORTANT:** Load the `remotion-production` skill for the MCP steps, asset conventions and creative guidance. Load the official `remotion-best-practices` skill (it routes to `remotion-create`, `remotion-markup`, `remotion-studio`, `remotion-render`, `remotion-captions`) for all Remotion markup, preview and render. When they disagree on Remotion APIs, the official skills win.
## Pre-flight Check
Before starting, verify:
1. MCP servers are available — check with `/mcp` if unsure. If anything is missing, suggest running `/setup`.
2. `ELEVENLABS_API_KEY` is set for audio (if not, follow the official ElevenLabs `setup-api-key` skill), and the official ElevenLabs skills are installed (`npx skills add elevenlabs/skills`).
3. The agent was launched from the Remotion project root (remotion-media tools write to `public/` of the launch directory).

# Remotion Production Workflow
This skill covers what Remotion's own skills don't: **getting the media**. It orchestrates 5 MCP servers to produce voiceovers, music, SFX, footage, images and clips, then wires them into a Remotion composition.
## Works on top of the official skills
This plugin builds on each provider's own Agent Skills and keeps only what's specific to making Remotion videos:
| Provider | Official skills | Install |
|---|---|---|
| Remotion | `remotion-best-practices` + sub-skills | `npx skills add remotion-dev/skills` |
| ElevenLabs | `text-to-speech`, `sound-effects`, `music`, `speech-to-text`, `voice-isolator`, `voice-changer` | `npx skills add elevenlabs/skills` |
| Replicate | `find-models`, `run-models`, `compare-models`, `prompt-images`, `prompt-videos` | `npx skills add replicate/skills` |

# Review Video — AI-Powered Video Feedback Loop
You are reviewing a Remotion video and providing professional feedback: first from a few rendered frames, then by having TwelveLabs "watch" the full render. This closes the production loop — preview, review, improve, repeat.
**Load the `remotion-production` skill** for the `video-analysis` rule. Rendering follows the official `remotion-render` skill.
**Rendering is allowed here.** Invoking `/review-video` is an explicit request to render for review, so you don't need to ask again.

# Setup Guide for Remotion Superpowers
This skill contains knowledge for helping users set up the plugin and troubleshoot issues. The step-by-step wizard is the `setup` skill; keep advice here consistent with it.
## Required companion: Remotion's official Agent Skills
Remotion Superpowers layers on top of Remotion's 12 official skills (`remotion-best-practices`, `remotion-captions`, `remotion-create`, `remotion-docs`, `remotion-interactivity`, `remotion-maps`, `remotion-markup`, `remotion-multimedia`, `remotion-render`, `remotion-saas`, `remotion-studio`, `remotion-upgrade`). This plugin owns media generation; the official skills own markup, scaffolding, preview, captions and rendering.
- **Install:** `npx skills add remotion-dev/skills` (detects the installed agents and installs to each; select all 12 if asked)
- **Update:** `npx remotion upgrade` from the project (also updates project-local skills), or `npx skills update <the 12 names> --yes` when `@remotion/cli` isn't installed
- **New project:** scaffold as official `remotion-create` says: inspect the folder first, then `npx create-video@latest --yes --blank --no-tailwind` (`.` for an empty folder, or a subfolder name), then `npm i`. Don't recommend Tailwind unless the user asks.
- **Launch directory:** start the agent from the Remotion project root; remotion-media tools write to `public/` of the directory the agent was launched from.
