Pure-bash network device engine + AI-agent skills: manage Cisco, MikroTik, Huawei, Juniper & more over plain OpenSSH — inventory, config changes with snapshot → verify → rollback, and data-driven vendor profiles (brands.json). No Python, no Netmiko.

# Network Change Management
Two gates that sit between "change script drafted" and "apply to device". They never touch hardware — they decide whether a change is safe to run, and they produce the undo for it. Pairs with the `ntnroute` skill: gate first, then `ntn config`.
- `scripts/cfg_audit.py` (stdlib Python) — audits a saved running-config (CRIT/WARN/INFO hardening findings) and, with `--change`, gates a pending change script for lockout risk before it goes anywhere near a device.
- `scripts/rollback_gen` (bash + awk, no Python) — derives a rollback script from the change script, applying the rules a naive `no <line>` prefixer gets wrong (blocks, negations, creates vs edits).
Both print text verdicts and exit 1 when a CRITICAL finding applies to the decision at hand.
## When to Use
- Before any `ntn config <ref> --script ...` run: gate the script first.
- After `ntn sync`, or on any file in `~/.ntnroute/backups/`: audit the saved config for hardening findings.
- When a change script exists but the rollback script does not.View the complete source on GitHubnetwork-device-cli

# Network Device CLI (Cisco IOS and other appliances)
## When to Use
- The user gives a host + credentials and asks for a command (ping, show) to be
run **on** the device — router, switch, firewall, appliance.
- An SSH attempt to network gear fails with `Permission denied` or
`no acceptable kex algorithm`.
- You need device-side reachability (can the router reach 8.8.8.8?) rather than
host-side.
- A request wants device config **changed** (interface, VLAN, route, ACL), not
just read — see "Before a config change" below.
- You are rebuilding a device-inventory / automation workflow that must survive
session resets — the inventory (hostname, ip, port, credentials, config_list,View the complete source on GitHubnetwork-security-audit

# Network Security Audit
Security audit of network devices: device hardening (local network) and
exposure to the outside (perimeter). Read-only during the audit; remediation
goes through the `network-change-management` skill.
## Core rules
1. **Audit only when the user asks.** Never run an audit proactively
("while we're at it", "to be thorough"). Triggers: the user requests an
audit, a security check, or an incident that needs a security assessment.
2. **Read-only.** All audit commands are read-only (`show`, `print`,
`display`). No state changes during the audit.
3. **Evidence, not opinion.** Every finding has command output plus, forView the complete source on GitHubnetwork-troubleshooting

# Network Troubleshooting
Network device diagnosis using the OSI layer principle, backed by the `ntn`
engine and the `triage` script that reads `show` output without touching
the device.
## When to Use
- A device in the `ntn` inventory is unreachable, slow, or behaving oddly.
- A user reports "no internet", "can't ping", "link down", "duplex errors".
- You need to read the real state before deciding on a configuration change.
- You need to distinguish: device down vs path down vs your own SSH session dying.

# NTnRoute.AI — network device engine
## When to Use
Use when the user asks about network devices in the NTnRoute inventory: listing/adding/removing devices, running CLI commands on them, pulling config, applying config changes, rollback, or troubleshooting connectivity.
Use when managing, configuring, or troubleshooting network devices in the NTnRoute inventory (Cisco, Huawei, Aruba, Ruijie, Arista, Juniper, Mikrotik, Fortinet).
Port of the n8n NTnRoute.AI workflow to Hermes. Persistence lives in a plain JSON file, not in a conversation: device data survives session changes, `/new`, and restarts.
Storage: `~/.ntnroute/devices.json` (mode 600). Backups: `~/.ntnroute/backups/`. Engine: `ntn` on `$PATH` (`~/.ntnroute/ntn`).
