This skill should be used when creating, refreshing, or validating a repository `AGENTS.md` so it stays concise, current, and grounded in repository evidence. Use when `AGENTS.md` is missing or stale, after refactors or tooling changes, when new docs become the system of record, or when adding lightweight drift checks.

# AGENTS.md Mapper
## Overview
Maintain a concise, current `AGENTS.md` for a repository as the codebase changes. Treat the file as a navigational map for future coding agents: show where to start, where important things live, how to validate changes, and which deeper docs outrank the map.
## When to Use
- Create a new `AGENTS.md` for a repository that does not have one
- Refresh an existing `AGENTS.md` that may be stale after refactors, path moves, package splits, or architecture changes
- Update the map after tooling, tests, CI, docs, or ownership signals changed
- Point `AGENTS.md` at new architecture docs, runbooks, or generated references that became the source of truth
- Add lightweight checks that detect drift between `AGENTS.md` and repository reality

# Differential Session Runner
Use this skill when debugging requires a **durable evidence trail** rather than ad hoc notes.
This skill is for workflows where you are comparing:
- original vs rewrite
- implementation A vs implementation B
- baseline trace vs candidate trace
- before vs after replay output
- captured artifact vs regenerated artifact
The goal is not only to investigate. The goal is to leave behind a **session artifact** another operator or agent can continue.

Execute implementation plans from .artifacts/plan/. Focus on EXECUTING ONLY - no planning, no fixes outside plan scope. Uses gated checks, atomic commits, and maintains a single execution log in .artifacts/execute/. Use when the user says "execute this plan" or provides a plan path.

# Execute Phase
## Overview
Execute implementation plans from `.artifacts/plan/` with strict discipline: gated checks, atomic commits, and a single living execution log.
## North Star Rule
> **Follow the plan exactly. Do not improvise. Do not fix what isn't in the plan.**
>
> If something is ambiguous or missing, stop and ask the user.
## When to Use

When your agent uses it
Map a repository's mechanical harness layers: canonical check command, local and CI gates, architecture boundaries, structural rules, behavioral verification, docs ratchets, evidence workflows, and operator-facing surfaces. Use when you need to understand how a repo keeps change safe.

# Harness Map
Map the repository's **actual harness**: the mechanical checks, policies, workflows, and artifacts that make change safe.
This skill is narrower than generic codebase research. It is specifically for answering questions like:
- "What is the harness in this repo?"
- "What does `check` actually run?"
- "Which layers are local vs CI vs docs vs evidence?"
- "How is architecture enforced here?"
- "What operator surfaces teach agents how to use the harness?"
## Core Principle

When your agent uses it
Generate execution-ready implementation plans from research docs - planning ONLY, no fixing or verifying. North Star is whether a JR developer can execute the plan with zero additional context.

# Plan Phase
## Overview
Generate execution-ready, coding-only implementation plans from research documents. The goal is to produce plans that **any JR developer can execute immediately with zero ambiguity**.
## North Star Rule
> **If a JR developer picked this up, could they start coding immediately?**
>
> If the answer is "no" or "they'd need to ask clarifying questions," the plan is incomplete.

When your agent uses it
This skill should be used when mapping or researching a codebase to understand its structure, patterns, and architecture. Use when the user asks to "map the codebase", "research how X works", "find all Y patterns", or needs to understand code organization. Produces factual structural maps in .artifacts/research/—no suggestions, no recommendations, just what exists. Uses ast-grep for structural pattern matching.

# Research Phase
Map and document codebase structure using structural analysis. This skill produces **factual maps only**—no suggestions, no recommendations, no opinions. Document what exists, where it lives, and how it connects.
## Core Principle
**Map, don't suggest.** The output is a structural map that another developer (or Claude instance) can use to navigate the codebase. Include:
- File paths with line numbers
- Pattern locations
- Dependency relationships
- Symbol definitions
